Saw Danny Baker's Rockin' Decades - they had 3 programmes for the 70s, 80s and 90s with different guests on each show talking about the music of that decade with him interspersed with some clips. There was a nice bit in last week's Telegraph magazine where Annabella Lwin (of Bow wow wow) talked about working with Vivienne Westwood. Got new issue of Vive Le Rock which had interviews with Duff McKagan, Leee Black Childers (legendary photographer - I think he has an exhibition on in London) and John Lydon/Public Image Ltd. Forgot to mention I got Luella's Guide to English Style (by Luella Bartley the fashion designer) - she namechecks a lot of my favourite ladies such as Marianne Faithfull, Amy Winehouse, Paula Yates, Isabella Blow even Annabella Lwin & Kate Bush as fashion icons. I got Q magazine. For once, I actually enjoyed their big list which was 1001 essential songs (they had top songs from various people then the best songs of various artists/genres as chosen by assorted famous people so for instance, you had Russell Brand choosing his favourite Smiths songs, John Simm choosing top Manchester anthems and Bill Oddie ( Read more... )
